Ohio Treasurer Cordray & U.S. Senator Brown team up to inform those who are missing out on Earned Income Tax Credit

Families with income below $39,700 and individuals making less than $12,500 are eligible to get several hundred or even several thousand dollars from the federal government. However, experts say 20 percent of those who are eligible don’t know this money is available. That means tens of thousands of Ohioans are missing out on money which could help them and also help the state’s economy.

Ohio Treasurer Cordray and U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown are teaming up to record a public service announcement informing Ohioans about these dollars, available through the federal Earned Income Tax Credit. Raw b-roll and sots of Cordray and Brown discussing the importance of the EITC to Ohio will be offered to Ohio television stations for newsroom use, via satellite.
