The field of risk management is rooted in analysis methods of hazard identification, probability estimates and loss mitigation. This course will introduce a comprehensive model to effectively manage risk through in house loss control technique and external risk financing through the purchase of insurance. Attendees will learn the steps necessary to identify risk, assess its probability of loss and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Managing risk is a fundamental safety responsibility required by law under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Understanding the concepts of risk management and effective transfer of risk through insurance will help all districts provide better working and learning environment.
