Target Audiences: School Districts
This course will provide an overview of the purpose of and requirements for a school district’s Records Commission under Ohio law, which is part of the Ohio Public Records Act.
The course will provide attendees with essential information related to government transparency and records retention policies that are essential to maintaining the trust of the public in our government institutions, including Ohio public schools.
Statement of Accreditation Rationale: The course will enhance the attendees’ understanding of the Ohio Public Records Law and the related requirements for retaining and disposing of records, including the role of a school district’s Records Commission in that process. This information is essential to protect school business officials and their districts from violations and liability, as well as to protect the public’s trust in our public agencies.
