Target Audiences: School Districts
This one-hour session, as part of a full day of learning, will focus specifically on Maintenance of Effort and Maintenance of Equity, and other pertinent Federal Grants – what you need to know about Federal Grants, what you should be looking at year-over-year, district requirements and timelines, and ideas to track.
This course will provide attendees with:
• Thorough understanding of Maintenance of Effort – ensure overall support funding for education is maintained year after year.
• Thorough understanding of Maintenance of Equity – ensure that if funding reductions are necessary, that cuts are not disproportionately affecting low-income students/families/buildings.
• Discussion of other Federal Grants to consider.
• Requirements, timelines, monitoring ideas and visuals for year-over-year analysis – are you on-track or off-track, or even required to track?
Thorough understanding of a district’s finances, including where they have been and where they are projected to go, is critical for any district CFO or decision maker. Federal Grants are an important revenue source for K-12 districts but require additional monitoring to ensure you are meeting spending requirements and providing equitable services. This session will help you better understand Grants administration, including requirements and monitoring.
