Five Rivers MetroParks Joins OhioCheckbook.com

Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague today announced that Five Rivers MetroParks (Montgomery County) has joined OhioCheckbook.com

“I’m pleased to welcome Five Rivers MetroParks to the Ohio Checkbook platform, and I appreciate their commitment to transparency,” said Treasurer Sprague. “When people have an inside look at how their tax dollars are spent, they take a greater interest in decisions impacting their communities.”

The park’s online checkbook includes more than 156,000 individual transactions that represent over $178.3 million in spending from January 2010 through December 2018.

“Five Rivers MetroParks takes its obligation to be good stewards of the public’s funds very seriously,” said Bill Tschirhart, chief of administration. “The agency is pleased to join OhioCheckbook.com so MetroParks can be as transparent and accountable to the community as possible.”

Since its launch, OhioCheckbook.com has garnered the interest of those hoping to learn more about how Ohio’s tax dollars are spent.
