Green Local School District Joins OhioCheckbook.com

Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague today announced that the Green Local School District (Wayne County) has joined OhioCheckbook.com

“OhioCheckbook.com gives taxpayers a direct look into where their money is going,” said Treasurer Sprague. “We’re pleased to have the Green Local School District as a partner in supporting transparency and empowering district residents to get involved in the decisions impacting their community.”

The Green Local School District is the second school district in Wayne County to join OhioCheckbook.com. The district’s online checkbook includes more than 20,000 individual transactions that represent over $20.8 million in spending from July 2017 through August 2019.

“We are proud to serve our students, families, and community members, who are a vital part of Green Local Schools,” said district treasurer Barbara Markland. “We feel it is important to provide transparency and accountability in terms of school activities and finances. By adopting the Ohio Checkbook initiative, taxpayers investing in the district can know their money is being used to create an excellent educational experience for the students we serve.”

Since its launch, OhioCheckbook.com has garnered the interest of those hoping to learn more about how Ohio’s tax dollars are spent.
