Dr. Lindsey Piegza is the Chief Economist for Stifel Fixed Income. She specializes in research and analysis of economic trends and activity, world economies, financial markets and fiscal policies.

Piegza joined Stifel in 2015 amid the merger with Sterne Agee where she was Chief Economist. Prior to her roles with Stifel and Sterne Agee, she was the Senior Economist for an investment bank for eight years in New York City.

In addition to more than 13 years of professional experience, Piegza has published academic papers in prestigious journals such as the Harvard Business Review and in textbooks from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Before that Kyle spent two years as the Assistant Treasurer of Strongsville City Schools and nine years with the Ohio Auditor of State’s office.  Kyle has been a swim coach for Valley Forge High School, Padua Franciscan High School, and Strongsville High School.

A public school Treasurer for almost 10 years, Melcie has established herself as a respected colleague that strives in leadership and collaboration.  A 1993 graduate of Waterford High School, a 1996 graduate of Marietta College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, Melcie started her career in the newspaper industry serving as the accountant for the Gannett owned Marietta Times in Marietta, Ohio.  In 1999, she decided to further her education and in 2000, became a graduate of Ohio University with a Master’s of Science in Accounting.

In 2008, Melcie accepted her first Treasurer’s position in her home school district, Warren Local in Vincent, Ohio.   In 2011, Melcie accepted an additional position with Fort Frye Local Schools as their Treasurer and served both District’s through a shared services agreement for 2 years.  Melcie still serves as the Treasurer at Warren Local currently.

Ryan Pendleton is the Executive Director of the North
Coast Shared Services Alliance where he coordinates financial and operations
support for northeast Ohio school districts through the Educational Service
Centers of Northeast Ohio, Medina, and Lorain Counties.

Ryan is very active in state and federal issues
concerning education and the potential impact on the students of Ohio. He is a
member of the Fair School Funding WorkGroup, co-chairing both the Base Cost and
Analysis and Support Groups.  As an inaugural member of the WorkGroup,
Ryan made significant contributions to creating and advocating for Ohio’s new
state funding formula.  His efforts contributed to the Fair School Funding
Formula being included in the 2022-2023 Biennium Budget.

Todd Puster has more than 25 years of experience serving as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of Ohio school districts. He currently serves as Treasurer/CFO of the Orange City School District. His career includes service as Treasurer/CFO to the following school districts: East Liverpool City, Streetsboro City, Ashland City and West Geauga Local.

Todd has been involved in more than $100 million worth of school construction and renovation projects during his career, including East Liverpool’s $43 million classroom facilities renovation project and $2 million non-classroom facilities program. His foresight in the early days of Ohio’s school facilities program allowed the Streetsboro City School District where he worked to lock in 35% reimbursement share for a comprehensive facilities master plan in 2002. Due to changing demographics in that school district, waiting some 10 years for that school district to take its turn in the program would have resulted in State share of about 15%. This foresight saved local taxpayers more than $15 million for a $68 million project.

Todd has demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence in financial reporting and accountability over his career. The Auditor of State has twice recognized Todd and the school districts he has served for excellence. He received the “Auditor of State Award” for the Fiscal Year 2011-2012, Fiscal Year 2012-2013 and Fiscal Year 2013-2014 East Liverpool City School District audits. He previously received the “Making Your Tax Dollars Count Award.” The awards are among the highest tributes a local fiscal officer can receive from the Auditor of State. These awards recognize Ohio public offices that achieve three

benchmarks: outstanding financial reporting, having no legal non-compliance citations and having no findings for recovery of misspent money.

Todd has worked through his professional organizations on various financial improvement efforts. Becky started her career as the assistant treasurer for her Alma Mater, Martins Ferry City Schools.  After twelve years she accepted the treasurer/CFO position for the Wellsville Local School District in Northeast Ohio.  Her love of the Central Ohio area found her accepting the assistant treasurer position at the fastest growing school district in the State of Ohio, Olentangy Local Schools.  After a year and a half she was promoted to the Treasurer/CFO role when her predecessor joined Upper Arlington Schools.  The district grew over twice its size to over 16,000 students under her financial leadership.  After nine years with Olentangy Schools she was recruited by the New Albany-Plain Local Schools and has been with this district for three years.  Becky has had the fortune of leading districts considered both wealthy and poor which gives her a unique perspective on the various challenges diverse districts face.

A public school Treasurer for almost 10 years, Melcie has established herself as a respected colleague that strives in leadership and collaboration.  A 1993 graduate of Waterford High School, a 1996 graduate of Marietta College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, Melcie started her career in the newspaper industry serving as the accountant for the Gannett owned Marietta Times in Marietta, Ohio.  In 1999, she decided to further her education and in 2000, became a graduate of Ohio University with a Master’s of Science in Accounting.

Ryan Pendleton is the Executive Director of the North
Coast Shared Services Alliance where he coordinates financial and operations
support for northeast Ohio school districts through the Educational Service
Centers of Northeast Ohio, Medina, and Lorain Counties.

Ryan is very active in state and federal issues
concerning education and the potential impact on the students of Ohio. He is a
member of the Fair School Funding WorkGroup, co-chairing both the Base Cost and
Analysis and Support Groups.  As an inaugural member of the WorkGroup,
Ryan made significant contributions to creating and advocating for Ohio’s new

Stan Bahorek was appointed Treasurer/CFO for Columbus City Schools August 1, 2014.  Immediately prior to that, he was Senior Public Funds Adviser at Meeder Investment Management in Dublin, Ohio.

Stan has over 20 years of experience as a school treasurer/CFO having served the districts of Norton City, South-Western City, Groveport Madison Local, and Worthington City Schools.  His 17 years of private sector experience include working with a variety of Ohio’s public entities advising them on both debt issuance and the investment of public funds in his roles as underwriter and registered investment adviser during his time with Huntington National Bank, Ehrlich Bober, Productive Portfolios, Productive Capital Management and Meeder Investment Management.

Stan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and an MBA degree, both from The Ohio State University with additional post-graduate work at Temple University in Philadelphia and the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Maria Rellinger is the current Treasurer/CFO of the Apollo Career Center.  Prior, she was the treasurer for Paulding Exempted Village Schools, Continental Local Schools, and also worked for the Auditor of State of Ohio. 
She obtained a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Ohio Northern University, and an MBA from the University of Findlay.

Bryan Christman is the Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer for the Shaker Heights City School District, a position he has held since October 1999.  Prior to that, Mr. Christman served as the Controller for six years and then the Treasurer for three years for the Cleveland City School District.  Mr. Christman began his professional career in public accounting where he served for twelve years at the former Coopers & Lybrand in Columbus, Ohio.  Mr. Christman, a certified public accountant, has participated in various professional development activities, and has served on the OASBO Legislative Committee, on various committees of the Northeast OASBO chapter, and the Ohio Schools Council Advisory Committee.  Mr. Christman and his wife of 32 years, JoAnn, who are the parents of three Shaker graduates (all off the payroll), reside in Shaker Heights.

Ryan Ghizzoni, Senior Analytics Advisor for Forecast5 Analytics, began his career with the Ohio Auditor of State's Office and has served as Treasurer/CFO for Ohio schools for over 17 years. During his career, he has been the recipient of six Association of School Business Officials International Meritorious Budget Awards and was the recipient of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials 2011 Outstanding Treasurer of the Year Award. Ryan holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from the Youngstown State University, and is a Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations.

Ryan Pendleton is the Executive Director of the North
Coast Shared Services Alliance where he coordinates financial and operations
support for northeast Ohio school districts through the Educational Service
Centers of Northeast Ohio, Medina, and Lorain Counties.

Ryan is very active in state and federal issues
concerning education and the potential impact on the students of Ohio. He is a
member of the Fair School Funding WorkGroup, co-chairing both the Base Cost and
Analysis and Support Groups.  As an inaugural member of the WorkGroup,
Ryan made significant contributions to creating and advocating for Ohio’s new
state funding formula.  His efforts contributed to the Fair School Funding
Formula being included in the 2022-2023 Biennium Budget.

Ryan is a Leadership Akron Class 32 graduate and
dedicated to serving the community, in particular the students across
Ohio.  Prior to working at North Coast Shared Service Alliance, Ryan was
the CFO/Treasurer of Akron Public and Barberton City Schools and worked
previously as a financial advisor.  

Ryan earned a BA in Business Administration from Malone
College and an MBA from Cleveland State University.
